Anchored

Confession: I don’t usually shop for myself on Etsy. Not because there aren’t awesome (awesome) things to buy, but I try to be good and put what I earn back into Miss Wyolene instead of caving to temptation every time a new treasury is posted.

But this awesome bracelet from SPARKLEFARM hooked me immediately. I kept going back and looking at it over and over, wondering why I was so drawn to it. It quickly hit me that the anchor is such a clear symbol of faith. Without it, I’d be adrift and hopeless. Completely without direction or reason.

I bought this bracelet and that same evening, my husband and I decided it was time for me to leave my job as an art director and pursue Miss Wyolene full time. Talk about a leap of faith.

I have worn this bracelet literally every day since it arrived. I told the artist, Erin, my story and how this piece of jewelry means so much to me on my creative journey. (I also told her that the next time God chooses to speak to me through jewelry, it will be something from her shop.)

And so friends, today begins a new chapter. The coming year will know doubt be a wild ride, but I’m so thankful that I’m not without hope or direction. Grateful that He is my anchor.

Love this so much. I have always been drawn to anchors as well, and I actually have a huge ole anchor tattoo on my back. My anchor is being dropped by two birds, and for me, it’s a reminder of the freedom I have because of my faith (it’s my little representation of Psalm 124:7… huge and permanently on my body forever 😉 I’m so excited for you, and hopefully this bracelet will be a reminder to you of the big picture whenever you have moments of questioning what you’re doing! (and if the bracelet doesn’t do it for you, you could always go get a tattoo… 😉
